In discontent‚ big oppons leave Prachanda's bungalow

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the three major political parties has once again failed to hammer out the differences on the Cabinet’s decision to provide legal status to the war-time transition channeled by the Maoist People’s Government during the period of insurgency
.

Today’s meeting held at the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s new residence in Lazimpat could not make headway to break the political deadlock, after the two big oppositions—the Nepali Congress(NC) and the CPN-UML fell on the Maoists for backtracking from its ‘granted stance’ to revoke the January 12 Cabinet decision.

Non Maoists’ condemnation of Maoists comes as a run up to the Thursday morning office bearers’ meeting of the UCPN-Maoist, which has urged the Maoist-led government, not to withdraw its decision to legalise land transactions carried out by Maoist-formed ‘People’s Government ‘ during the period of insurgency.

Meanwhile, the two big oppositions, along with the other fringe parties have been obstructing House since January 17 demanding that the government revoke its January 12 decision.

As the Maoist and non-Maoists are at the bad terms due to government’s decision to legalize war time transactions, the impending tasks in peace and statute have also been sternly affected.
